Incline vs. Speed? Which Value is More Important

Treadmill training - why is it worth choosing the incline?

You've probably heard that the best workout is a fast workout. Nothing could be further from the truth! I believed it myself for a long time, until I discovered that it is the incline of the treadmill that can completely change the quality of your workout. I was especially convinced of this when I tested the N1 PRO treadmill with its 8-level incline adjustment.

Slower uphill or faster on flat terrain? The numbers don't lie!

Let's assume a simple experiment: a 30-minute walk on the N1 PRO treadmill. Let's compare two scenarios:

SPEED TILT COMBUSTION JOINT STRESS
5km/h 0 degrees ~150/170 kcal 1.2 - 1.5x body weight at each stop
3km/h 6 degrees ~180/220 kcal 1.1x body weight with each step

Real desk work - what speed makes sense?

We have to be honest - the myth of walking super fast while working is a lie. Our tests clearly show that speeds above 3 km/h are too much if you really want to be productive.

Why 3 km/h?

  • At higher speeds it is difficult to type stably on the keyboard
  • Above 3 km/h you start to focus more on walking than on working
  • You get tired faster and lose concentration
  • The risk of typos increases dramatically (believe us, we checked!)

What works best?

  • 0.8-1.5 km/h: ideal for writing emails and precision work
  • 1.5-2.5 km/h: good for reading and light tasks
  • 2.5-3.0 km/h: maximum for most office tasks

Pro tip: Start with the lowest speed and increase it gradually. Your body will tell you when you've reached your limit. And remember - it's not about breaking a speed record, it's about moving while you work!

If you want to speed up, it is better to use the incline function - it will increase the intensity of the workout without compromising the quality of your work.

Why is slope a game changer?

Remember the last time you took a walk up a hill? Even at a normal pace, you felt your legs and lungs working harder. That's no coincidence! The incline turns a regular walk into a full-fledged workout, without the need to run like crazy.

Your joints will thank you

Running at high speed? Your knees take every step with a force several times greater than your body weight. Walking uphill? You work harder, but without that killer impact. Smart, right?

Muscles work smarter

The slope itself causes:

  • Calves get a real workout
  • The thighs work as if doing squats
  • The stomach tenses itself (yes, really!)
  • You stop slouching

How to master incline training on the N1 PRO?

At the beginning

Start with the first or second incline level. This will burn more calories than regular walking. And no, you don't have to climb Everest right away!

When you catch the bug

Try this trick:

  • 5 minutes of easy walking at level 3-4
  • 2 minutes livelier for 5-6
  • And so on, several times in turns

For advanced walkers

Set the levels higher (6-8) and just walk. Trust me, you will feel it in your legs, but in a good way!

What do you gain?

  1. Faster burning
  • Same 30 minutes, but calories go faster
  • Metabolism continues to grow long after training
  1. Better shape without great sacrifices
  • You don't have to run like crazy
  • The legs are getting stronger
  • Your condition is improving, you don't even know when
  1. No excuses about injuries
  • No "booty" in the knees
  • Joints are getting stronger instead of getting damaged
  • The body adapts at its own pace

A handful of practical tips

Where to start?

  1. First, get used to walking normally on a treadmill
  2. Add minimum slope
  3. Increase the time before you start increasing the angle

When to turn it up a notch?

  • When the current setup is no longer a challenge
  • If you want to speed up the results
  • When you feel like you can do more

To sum up

The incline on the N1 PRO is not a gimmick added for show. It really works! Instead of torturing yourself with running, you can:

  • Burn more
  • Take care of your joints
  • Build strength
  • Get in shape

And most importantly - do it gradually. Your body will tell you when you can add the next level.

Frequently asked questions

Is it possible to work with an inclination? Sure! Start with the minimum and see what angle you feel comfortable with.

Can I train like this every day? You can, but at first give yourself a day or two of rest between more intense sessions.

Do you have to hold on to the railing? N1 PRO is stable even on a steeper slope. Special markings on the lane will help you stay on track.
